A-TPW, A-005 – Liner Top Packer W/O Hold Down
The A-TP, A-TPW are compression set Liner Top Packers. They are run above a liner hanger and either a Mechanical Running Tool or a Hydraulic Running tool can be used along with it. After cementing operations have been carried out, the running string is picked up, until the Packer setting tool (A-TPST) dogs come out of the Tie-Back Receptacle and are extended. Slacking off weight compresses and sets the Packers.
The Clutch profile machined on the Packer body permits the transmission of high torque from the running string to the liner. This facilitates drill down and reaming.
In case of a Rotating Liner Hanger being deployed, rotation can be transmitted to the Liner string during cementing operations for better cement bonding and integrity.
The Body of the Liner top packer features an integral profile for receiving the Cementing Pack-Off Bushing (A-RPB), which acts as a seal between the cement being pumped and the work string, preventing contamination.
