Dual Plug System
DESCRIPTION
A-DW-DP, A-228-Drill Pipe Wiper Plug- Dual Plug System
A-LWDP, A-226-Liner Wiper Plug- Dual Plug System
The Drill Pipe Wiper Plug (DW-DP) and Liner Wiper Plug (LW-DP) are Dual Plug-Collet Release surface deployed Plugs used to isolate cement from the displacement fluids during cementing operations. The LW-DP are compatible with the Liner being hanged, and the DW-DPS are compatible with the running string.
Both Plugs feature anti-rotational Latch Profiles that prevent the Plugs from backing off and lock them in place to facilitate Drill out.
Both the Liner Wiper Plugs are connected by means of a Collet system, that ensures proper sequence of release and reduces the chances of accidental release even in difficult wellbores.
The LWDP is shear pinned to the Shear adapter of the Slick Joint and has an ID to allow cement to pass thru, once the displacement fluid has been pumped the 1st DWDP is released from the Cementing Head followed by cement, it wipes down the Drill String and lands and latches into the lower LWDP. Increase in pressure shears the Lower LWDP, both Plugs land and lock in the landing collar and seal with the Landing collar, or into the Stage Cementing Collar, where used for Slotted Liner Systems.
Now, the Second DWDP is released which latches into the Upper LWDP and shears the same, the cement is pumped thru the Landing Collar, and the Plugs latch into the Landing Collar
Both Wiper Plugs are manufactured from high-grade aluminum, allowing for easier drillout with a PDC bit.
