Hydraulic Anchor Catcher
DESCRIPTION
A-HTCA, A-253 – Hydraulic Anchor Catcher
The A-HTCA is a hydraulically activated retrievable anchor designed to hold the tubing / casing string in tension or compression. The Hydraulic Anchor catcher prevents movement of the tubing / casing during pumping strokes and holds it stationary if it should part.
The use of an anchor increases pump efficiency, reduces rod and tubing wear, and keeps tubing and rods from falling into the well in case of a tubing part.
Pressure is applied to set the anchor, thru the tubing by means of a temporary plugging device below the anchor catcher. Tool is equipped with bi-directional slips those are recessed in a cage to facilitate faster RIH. The Anchor is retrieved by straight pull to shear. Â
