Expansion Joint Splined
DESCRIPTION
A-EJS, A-209 – Expansion Joint Splined
The A-EJS is a combination tool that acts like a telescoping sub or a swivel sub. This is a reliable tool to compensate tubing expansion or contraction that occurs due to temperature changes during well operations, being typically used with retrievable packers.
The design makes the EJS suitable for torque transmission in either expanded or contracted position.
FEATURES
- Rotationally locked
- Allows torque transmission
- Available in varying stroke lengths e.g. 2, 4, 6 and 10 ft
BENEFITS
- Shear release field adjustable
- Run between packers in multiple packer installations
- Inexpensive swivel and telescope design
- Easy to use and maintain
- One-piece mandrel
- Available with or without spline
APPLICATIONS
- Where movement of the tubing is expected or desired after the packer has been set
- In single packer installations where an expansion joint is desired, and the packer requires torque to set or release
- This tool utilizes “right hand torque only” and can be used to apply downward rotary torque, upward rotary torque as well and at center, “neutral”, position to isolate torque or to idle the lower connection tools
Available in various sizes with standard or exotic material and varying shear release value including elastomer based on compatibility with the well environment and application requirement. In addition, safety joints are furnished with different end connections (Standard API EUE or NUE or premium thread), to meet customer’s requirements.
