Landing Nipples are run into the well on the completion tubing to provide a specific landing location for respective lock mandrels.

The profiles of landing nipples and lock mandrels are universal.

Usually X-Landing Nipples are used in standard weight tubing applications where there are moderate pressure differentials and with heavy weight tubing, R-Landing Nipples are typically used.

Many selective nipples with the same seal bore can be exist in sequence as desired on the tubing string. This versatility results in an unlimited number of positions for setting and locking subsurface flow controls.

XN and RN Landing Nipples and Lock Mandrels: The profile has an angled shoulder instead of the square of the selective types. A “no go” shoulder of an adapter sub made up at the bottom of the lock must make contact with a bore restriction in the “no go” nipple in order to lock the mandrel in the landing nipple.

These equipment are no-go version of the selective profiles, designed for use in single nipple installations or as the bottom nipple in a series of ‘X’ or ‘R’ Landing Nipples.

The Equalizing Prong or Valve assembly, when attached to a Lock mandrel assembly, converts the lock mandrel to a Blanking Plug, with equalizing device, capable of holding pressure differentials from above or below.

The flow control, which is attached to the required ‘X’ or ‘R’ Lock Mandrel, is run in the well via the selective running tool on slickline.

Equipment are available in different materials and connections as per requirement.
