DESCRIPTION
A-WLAK, A-047– Wireline Adapter Kit
The A-WLAK, Wireline Adapter Kit, is used in conjunction with Wireline Setting Equipment, like Packers, Bridge Plugs and Cement Retainers.
It features an Adjustor Sub, Setting Sleeve and Tension Mandrel. The WLAK is compatible with the Wireline Pressure Setting Assembly and with the A-HST. When the HST is actuated, the setting sleeve applies a load on the equipment below it. Thereby activating it.The Tension Mandrel connects the WLAK to the Release Stud, which enables transmission of tensile loads into the equipment, to achieve full pack-off, and subsequently breaking the release stud, freeing to tool for POOH.The tension mandrel is equipped with a spring that makes is adjustable and usable for multiple sizes.
The A-WLAK is designed to connect the BP or CR to a standard Hydraulic Setting Tool or Wireline Pressure Setting Assembly. During operation, when the Pressure Setting Assembly is actuated, it pull the Tension Mandrel of the WLAK upwards, while the Setting Sleeve remains stationary, this causes the upper slips to break and engage with the Casing, further tension sets the BP/ CR and breaks the Lower Slips followed by shearing of the Release Stud. If a CR is used, the Latch Sleeve remains in Closed Position.The Setting Assembly along with the Adapter Kit can be pulled out of hole.
